In the past few weeks, Indonesia has been hit with a series of natural disasters that have caused consequential damage and loss of life. On March 9 2022, the volcanic eruption of Mount Merapi in Central Java killed about 34 people and injured more than a hundred. It was followed by flash floods on July 24 and 27 that struck the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, killing more than 70 people and leaving hundreds of thousands displaced.
Natural disasters have caused hardship for many people in Indonesia and has displaced more than 80,000 people, and thousands more have been affected by the earthquakes and landslides.

This latest disaster has exacerbated the already difficult situation in Indonesia. The country is battling to recover from the previous disasters and is now facing another humanitarian crisis.
